Harry Kane has insisted he is 'proud' of his teammates as Bayern Munich crashed out of the Champions League.
The German giants were the latest victims of a dramatic comeback by Real Madrid, who won 2-1 in the semi-final second leg on Wednesday night.
Bayern were on the cusp of setting up a Der Klassiker final clash against rivals Borussia Dortmund following Alphonso Davies' second half stunner.
With the clock ticking down, Thomas Tuchel opted to withdraw Kane from play - a decision that has since been labelled as the 'worst managerial substitution' in football history.
And with the Bundesliga outfit dropping deep, they succumbed to a late double from ex-Newcastle striker Joselu as Real emerged as 4-3 victors on aggregate.
England skipper Kane looked heartbroken as he watched on helpless from the bench, with his search for a first trophy continuing into next season.

He has now taken to social media the day after the devastating defeat where he issued a heartfelt message to the Bayern faithful.
In a post shared on X, the 30-year-old said: "Gutted. Last night was tough to take.
"Proud of how we battled over the two legs which says everything you need to know about the spirit of this team and how far we can go."
Despite suffering disappointment in his search for silverware, Kane is set to become just the second Englishman after Kevin Phillips to win the European Golden Boot.
It made his substitution against Madrid all the more confusing, though Tuchel has since stated his talisman was struggling with a minor niggle.
He told TNT Sports: "We started with a front four and all four has to go out with injury or cramp.

Despite there still being two games left to play in the Bundesliga, attention for Kane will turn towards Euro 2024.
And while he has achieved no club success in Germany so far, he will be hoping to claim European glory in his new country.
