“It also enhances our efforts for Riyadh Season to produce diverse content in order to engage and attract an even wider audience with different interests from around the world.

“UFC is the most prominent mixed martial arts organization in the world and their platform of global fans is unrivalled.”

The UFC's first event in Saudi Arabia will take place on June 22 and will be headlined by a middleweight fight with title complications between Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev.

Riyadh Season, an annual state-managed sports and entertainment festival, will sponsor UFC 306 on September 14, which will be Dana White’s first event at The Sphere in Las Vegas.

Alalshikh also announced Riyadh will host a Power Slap show.

White confirmed the deal by saying: "By extending our partnership with Ridyah Season we can continue to bring even more incredible events to Saudi Arabia."

Alalshikh told ESPN there are plans to stage a major UFC event in Saudi Arabia at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025. He claimed it would be ‘something big’ in comparison to next month’s card.

"This is a strong message to the market with [this] UFC [partnership]," Alalshikh said.

"We are working with everyone. My favourite is boxing, but we will try to make Riyadh one of the biggest cities around the world in MMA."

"We will do big things with the UFC and TKO.”

The UFC and WWE merged last year to form TKO, a publicly traded company worth £17.3 billion.

Alalshikh already has strong ties to the professional wrestling outfit, which has held at least one of its premium live events in Saudi Arabia since 2018 after debuting in the region four years prior.

A new deal between the WWE and Alalshikh is due to be announced later this month.
