Scott, a former professional fighter who now trains former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder as well as his other half, said Abdo is not far from a debut in the ring, but it could be at the back end of 2024 and is unlikely to see her give up her presenter gig.

He told Casino Online In: "Kate has been offered some Misfits action, the dates have to line up. We all know who will train her for it.

"It's something we're going to take on when the time's right, most likely it won't be as early as this summer, but look out for it.

"She can really fight. She's technically very good and has a great work ethic.

"Technically her base is very good and she throws strong combinations.

"She's knowledgeable about boxing because of her job.

"She's very interested in putting the skills she's learnt from her partner into practice and I'm backing her.

"We haven't picked an opponent yet."

Abdo first worked for Sky Sports as a broadcast presenter, with expertise in football, but she also began her career in boxing covering pay-per-view events.

Thierry Henry and CBS panel left in shock after discovering what Kate Abdo was doing back in 2007

She has also worked with boxing promotion Premier Boxing Champions, in addition to hosting squared circle shows for streaming service DAZN.

Now she has gained even more notoriety for her role as chief presenter on CBS Sports' coverage of the Champions League.

KSI's Misfits Boxing label has offered opportunities to a whole host of celebrities who are able to showcase their talents, at a lower level to the professional ranks of the sport.

Abdo has spoken herself about the opportunity to fight, and she even opened the door to a match-up with reality TV star Katie Price.

She said: "Why not? Listen, I'd fight anybody. I'd fight anybody they put in front of me.

"I just haven't watched a bunch of Misfits so I just don't know honestly what's a fight that makes sense.

"But yeah, if I got to do a couple of months in camp in LA before I had to fight, yeah I'd be down."

And if she can keep Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher in check then surely she can handle anyone who is put in front of her.
